About Us
Dr. Sophie Attwood (PhD, CPsych) a Cambridge University-trained behavioral scientist and founder and director of Behavior Global.
Sophie launched Behavior Global in 2023 to help companies, governments, and the third sector to use insights and methods from behavioral science to tackle some of the biggest challenges facing human health, wellbeing, and the future of our planet.
Sophie has over 10 years of experience designing and evaluating behavior change programs in the health and sustainability sectors. She has led successful projects across a range of geographies including Europe, North America, the Middle East, and China.
Sophie's peer-reviewed research has been published in a range of high-impact academic journals such as the BMJ Open, Appetite and Frontiers. Her work has also featured in international media outlets including the Guardian, Washington Post, Forbes, Reuters, the National Geographic and more. Sophie has been invited to speak at many international forums including COP27, UN Food Systems Summit, the European Commission, the FAO and more.
Sophie is an affiliate researcher and PhD supervisor at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, a member of the American Psychological Association’s Climate Change Community of Scholars and a certified member of the British Psychological Society (CPsych). Sophie is also a visiting fellow at Zinc, a mission-led VC specialising in health and sustainability.
Sophie holds a MPhil in Public Health, an MSc in Physical Activity, Nutrition and Public Health and is a qualified fitness professional and 200-hour certified Yoga Instructor.
